In passing, I have reduced the number of equities I hold over the last year and now have my smallest number ever.
Quality of management is the single most important quality which Institutional Investors say they look for in a company, but it seldom figures in discussion amongst PIs. I also think that a level of continuity is generally a good thing. It is something I try and pay attention to, but it is often difficult to find out much about the management of small caps. ( My starting point on AIM is that the CEO is a crook, until I can prove otherwise! ) As good an example as any is Next, where the exceptionally able Lord Wolfson has consistently delivered over a long period of time,despite the various head winds faced by the sector, which have done for so many.
Are you saying that you are all in on this ? I am a great believer in concentration rather than over-diversification but I can’t envisage putting everything into one stock.
My top 5 holdings are pretty dull but I sleep well at night :-) I am prioritising dividends while hoping for small capital gains / minimising capital losses while still focusing on a full time job. The BoE will not keep interest rates at 5.25% forever.

TN24 maturing 31.01.24. It's been a useful contribution whilst markets were unsettled in 2023. I need to find a new use for the cash. Looking at big dividend payers like M&G (LON:MNG) and Lloyds Banking (LON:LLPC). Potentially a copper miner in a stable part of the world (is there such a thing ?). BlackRock World Mining Trust (LON:BRWM) . John Rosier in the IC is a fan and I'm pretty sure Ed Shing has written about the hoped for resources bull market (especially in copper) in his excellent regular column. Aviva (LON:AV.) CEO Amanda Blanc has done a great job of selling off non-core businesses in Europe & Asia. Focus is on UK, Ireland and Canada with some exposure still in Asia (India and Singapore as I seem to recall). Again, decent write-up in the IC in August. http://tinyurl.com/ynsx2dkt
Tesco (LON:TSCO). I am currently on a decent capital gain and it is paying out a reasonable dividend. Maybe even a special dividend again on the back of the impending Tesco Bank sale ? Roland Head produced a nice write-up this week. Very timely! http://tinyurl.com/yjmmufup

I am underwhelmed by the Tesco (LON:TSCO) RNS on Friday. It was the news I was hoping to hear and should help the ROCE stat but I was hoping for a special dividend rather than buybacks which never quite seem to do what they are intended to ie: push up the SP.
I still think Tesco (LON:TSCO) is a good defensive position for me to hold (I am a failed blue sky investor who is now a conservative investor slowly building dividend wealth) but I can't help feeling this was a missed opportunity. Oh well, keep going :-)

Renold (LON:RNO) is my biggest winner.
I keep 6% in cash for unexpected opportunities or withdrawals, and a further 8.7% in long term funds (partly to compare with my own performance!). These are Blackrock European Dynamic for European exposure, which I am not comfortable with analyzing, and Fundsmith Equity which gets me large caps, where getting an analytical edge requires more resources than I have.
My top five individual stocks are :
Alpha Metallurgical Resources (NYQ:AMR), Discoverie (LON:DSCV) ,Tatton Asset Management (LON:TAM) , Automatic Data Processing (NSQ:ADP) and Parker-Hannifin (NYQ:PH).
A substantial share of my portfolio is in US stocks but the Top Five UK shares (after DSCV and TAM as above) are: Spectra Systems (LON:SPSY) , Diploma (LON:DPLM) , Bioventix (LON:BVXP, Sigmaroc (LON:SRC) and Beazley (LON:BEZ). With reference to comments so far, Goodwin (LON:GDWN) would have been seventh on this list.

I like your style Cartman. I felt the same way many moons ago when I first started trading. Made a killing, then over time gave it back to the market. The market is the harshest of teachers, and in fact, that is a good thing especially early on provided you started small, because it teachers you fear, and you need a healthy dose of that when it comes to learning about risk. Position sizing is key to long term success in trading. Risking 100 percent of your equity per trade, is mathematically the quickest way to the poor house.

2022 and first half of 2023 was a decent year for me trading. However, last half of 2023 went badly. I've decided that I will now only trade shares in an early stage 2 uptrend, and it must either have high Quality rankings or high StockRank ratings(the former is preferred), 80+(green only). I used to favour stocks that had fallen steeply, and was looking to bottom fish them. Problem with buying stocks still in a downtrend is that it often keeps on falling or it does nothing for ages, and it basically then becomes dead money for years.

Mainly in pooled funds as I find it to hold on in a downturn. Whilst past performance means nothing, history often rhymes IMO. I figure these funds are probably run by some type smartest folk in the business - certainly better than I could do!
My top 5.
JGGI - had a solid start to the year (noted a lot on this thread hold).
GSK - now 2nd thanks to the recent climb. Good recent results so expect this to continue upwards, minus any kickback on the legal side.
AV. - steady divvy and future return of capital expected.
LIT - well run, great potential.
Advt - great management team, a bet on Vin Murria doing it again, once the news flow starts to get this noticed it could fly.
My Top-10 which accounts for about 40-50% of my PF are;
Happy with most, but Global X Copper Miners UCITS ETF USD Acc (LON:COPG) hasn't done a lot for the last couple of years, but am holding on in the expectation of major growth in copper, but it needs the electrification revolution & China to start growing again before that happens.
The Royal London UT has been closed, but someone has pointed out there is an alternative Quilter investment run by the same managers.
WisdomTree UK Quality Div Growth UCITS ETF GBP (LON:UGRW) is a new ETF, but I like its criteria and has some good companies in it. It is only just over £1m, but I suspect will grow fairly steadily as Wisdom Tree have a good record in "Quality" ETF's eg WisdomTree Global Qual Div Gro UCITS ETF USD Acc (LON:GGRW)
