Profile Summary
Rompetrol Rafinare SA is a Romania-based company primarily engaged in the operation of refineries. The Company manufactures various refined petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel, liquefied petroleum gas, petroleum coke and petroleum sulfur, as well as medium and heavy oils used as heating fuel, such as heavy solvent, slurry and fuel oil. The Company operates two refineries in Romania: Petromidia in the city of Navodari and Vega in the city of Ploiesti. Through its subsidiaries, the Company is also involved in the retail and wholesale of petroleum products, as well as operation of laboratories, which provide analyses of petroleum, water, soil and air, among others. As of December 31, 2011, the Company’s direct subsidiaries included Rompetrol Logistics SRL, Rompetrol Petrochemicals SRL, ROM OIL SA, Rompetrol Quality Control SRL and Rompetrol Downstream SRL.
