Profile Summary
Rakuten Group Inc is a Japan-based company mainly engaged in the Internet services, FinTech, and mobile business. The Company operates through three business segments. The Internet Service segment is mainly engaged in the operation of electronic commerce (EC) sites, including Rakuten Ichiba, as well as online cashback sites, travel reservation sites, portal sites, digital content sites and messaging services. It is also involved in the sale of advertisements on these Websites, and the operation of sports facilities. The FinTech segment is engaged in the provision of credit card-related services, banking and securities services, cryptocurrency (virtual currency) intermediation, insurance services and electronic money services. The Mobile segment is engaged in the provision of communication services and messaging services, as well as operation of digital content Websites. The Company also operates marketing support business, Rakuten delivery business and real-time takeout business.
