Profile Summary
Iofina plc is a United Kingdom-based holding company. The Company is involved in the exploration and isolation of iodine and the production of specialty chemicals. Its principal business is to identify, develop, build, own, and operate iodine extraction plants, focused on North America, based on the Company’s Wellhead Extraction Technology (WET) IOsorb technology. The Company, through its subsidiary, Iofina Resources, Inc., which uses proprietary WET and WET IOsorb methods to produce iodine from brine. The Company, through its subsidiary, Iofina Chemical, Inc., manufactures halogen specialty chemicals. The Company produces iodine from brine solutions produced in oil and gas fields at its multiple IOsorb plants in Oklahoma. The Company integrates the iodine into an array of specialty iodine derivatives, which are created and sold through Iofina Chemical to diverse global markets. Additionally, the Company sells iodine globally and also produces other non-iodine specialty chemicals.
