RNS Number : 6771G Horizonte Minerals PLC 31 March 2022

NEWS
RELEASE

31 March 2022

Horizonte Minerals Plc

("Horizonte" or the "Company")

Completion of Fundraise

Horizonte Minerals Plc, (AIM: HZM, TSX: HZM) the nickel development company
focused in Brazil, is pleased to announce the completion of both the US$65
million Convertible Notes issuance and the sale of the Vermelho Royalty,
previously announced on 23 November 2021. Accordingly, the Company has now
received all subscription amounts in respect of the Convertible Notes as well
as the US$25 million upfront purchase price in respect of the Vermelho
Royalty. Receipt of the Convertible Notes funding means the Company has now,
subject to drawdown of the Senior Debt in due course, completed or received
the relevant funding for all aspects of the previously announced US$633
million Funding Package.

Horizonte CEO, Jeremy Martin commented: "The receipt of these funds represents
an important moment for Horizonte and the completion of our US$633 million
funding package. We can now move forward with confidence as we continue to
ramp up construction activities at our tier one Araguaia ferronickel project.

The funding raised to progress our Vermelho project demonstrates the
compelling value within Horizonte's asset portfolio and the opportunity to
progress another tier one nickel project at a time when security of supply and
availability of high quality, low carbon sources of nickel for the burgeoning
EV battery market is coming under increased scrutiny. Horizonte is assembling
a dedicated team to drive progress at Vermelho, and this funding will allow us
to advance a feasibility study and permitting work streams at the project, as
well as pursue other strategic initiatives to best position the project for
the evolving nickel demand dynamics."

Unless otherwise defined herein, capitalised terms used in this announcement
shall have the same meanings as defined in the announcement of the Equity
Fundraise made by the Company on 23 November 2021.

This announcement contains inside information for the purposes of Article 7 of
EU Regulation 596/2014, as retained in the UK pursuant to S3 of the European
Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018.

About Horizonte Minerals:

Horizonte Minerals plc (AIM & TSX: HZM) is developing two 100% owned, tier
one projects in Parà state, Brazil - the Araguaia Nickel Project and the
Vermelho Nickel-Cobalt Project. Both projects are large scale, high-grade,
low-cost, low-carbon and scalable. Araguaia is fully funded and in
construction. The project will produce 29,000 tonnes of nickel per year to
supply the stainless steel market. Vermelho is at feasibility study stage and
will produce 25,000 tonnes of nickel and 1,250 tonnes of cobalt to supply the
EV battery market. Horizonte's combined near-term production profile of over
50,000 tonnes of nickel per year positions the Company as a globally
significant nickel producer. Horizonte is developing a new nickel district in
Brazil that will benefit from established infrastructure, including
hydroelectric power available in the Carajás Mining District.
