Chapel Down sparkling Rose awarded 'Best in Show' at Decanter World Wine
Awards

Chapel Down, England's leading and most celebrated winemaker, is pleased to
announce its Rosé English sparkling wine has received the prestigious
accolade of being included in the Decanter World Wine Awards' Top 50 'Best in
Show' selection - the first time a UK sparkling rosé has ever achieved the
highly coveted accolade. This is the highest handed out by Decanter, beyond
Silver, Gold and Platinum medals, with 'Best in Show' reserved for what the
judges regard as the 50 very best wines from around the world.

Since the Decanter Wine Awards began, there have only been 10 'Best in Show'
English wines. This latest accolade is the third time that the Company has won
this award, making Chapel Down the English wine producer with the most
Decanter 'Best in Show' awards, having previously won with its Kit's Coty
Chardonnay still wine and Kit's Coty Coeur de Cuvée sparkling wine.

Josh Donaghay-Spire, Head Winemaker, commented: "Winning such a high accolade
for our Sparkling Rosé is a fantastic recognition of the quality of our
vineyard sites and the meticulous attention to detail which every member of
our team pours into our wines. This wine and this award is a landmark on our
journey of the exploration of the terroir of Kent and a great moment to
reflect on how far we have come in creating a brand new wine region here."

Andrew Carter, Chief Executive, said: "English Wine Week is a great time to
reflect on how far we've come, the promise of the future and the pleasure of
the present. Accolades such as these only further reinforce Chapel Down as
England's leading and most celebrated winemaker, as well as English wine's
position on the world stage. We are the market leader in an industry which is
enjoying rapid and sustained growth, driven by quality & excellence of
winemaking. We have the leading brand, the deepest distribution which we
continue to expand at pace, and we continue to win international acclaim such
as these for the quality of our wines. Our continued outstanding performance,
and record-breaking 2023 harvest, means our passionate and highly skilled team
carries significant momentum into this year."

Launched in 2004 and now in its 21st year, the Decanter World Wine Awards is
the world's largest wine competition. The 'Best in Show' is the ultimate
accolade at the Decanter World Wine Awards. In a separate tasting, the four
Co-Chairs re-taste all the Platinum winners to select the 'Best in Show'. When
selecting the ultimate accolade, the Co-Chairs are aware of the origins,
grapes, vintage and price bands.
