Caspian Sunrise plc is a United Kingdom-based oil and gas exploration and production company, which is engaged in acquiring and developing interests in oil and gas assets in Central Asia with a focus on Kazakhstan. The Company’s operations include BNG Contract Area, Block 8 Contract Area, 3A Best Contract Area, West Shalva Contract Area, Caspian Technical Services (CTS), Caspian Explorer, and Oil trading. The BNG Contract Area is in the west of Kazakhstan, 40 kilometers (km) southeast of Tengiz on the edge of the Mangistau Oblast. The 3A Best Contract Area extends to over 1,347 square kilometers (sq km) near the Caspian port city of Aktau. The Block 8 Contract Area is approximately 160 km from the BNG Contract area and extends over 2,823 sq km. The West Shalva contract area is rectangular in shape and extends to over 25 sq km. Caspian Explorer, a drilling vessel designed to operate in the shallow northern Caspian Sea. The CTS has over 150 contractors and owns 4 rigs.
