Profile Summary
Caribbean Utilities Company, Ltd. engages in the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity within its licensed area in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. The Company operates in a single business segment, covering electricity generation, transmission, distribution, and telecommunication. It has an installed generating capacity of approximately 166 megawatts (MW). Its Transmission and Distribution (T&D) System includes approximately eight major transformer substations, 387 miles of overhead high-voltage (69 kilovolt and 13 kilovolt) lines, 53.8 miles of underground high-voltage lines, and 14 miles of high-voltage submarine cable in Grand Cayman. Its Generating Plant power system consists of approximately 21 generating units: 17 diesel engines, three gas turbines, and one steam turbine, with a combined capacity of 165.55 megawatts (MW). Its subsidiary, DataLink, Ltd., provides fiber optic infrastructure and other information and communication technology (ICT) services.
