Profile Summary
Botswana Diamonds PLC is an Ireland-based diamond exploration and project development company. The Company holds exploration licenses in Botswana and South Africa. The Company's segments include Botswana, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. The Company is exploring in the Kalahari region of Botswana, both under its own wholly owned subsidiary, Sunland Minerals and a joint venture with BCL in Maibwe Diamonds. Its KX36 is approximately 3.5-hectare kimberlite pipe in the Kalahari. The kimberlite is situated over 70 kilometers (km) from Gem Diamonds’ Ghaghoo Mine, and 260 kilometers north-west of Botswana’s capital Gaborone. The Company also holds the mineral rights to the Thorny River, Marsfontein, and Reivilo diamond projects. The Company's subsidiaries include Kukama Mining and Exploration (Proprietary) Limited, Kukama Diamonds Investments Limited, African Irish Diamonds (Pty) Ltd, and Sekaka Diamond Exploration (Pty) Limited.
