Profile Summary
Active Energy Group Plc is a United Kingdom-based renewable energy company. The Company is focused on the production and development of biomass products. It is a producer of sustainably sourced, energy-dense clean carbon products and technologies. It operates through the CoalSwitch segment, which denotes the Company's renewable wood pellet business. It has developed a technology, which transforms waste biomass material into renewable fuels. Its patented product, CoalSwitch, is a drop-in renewable fuel that can be co-fired with coal, completely replace coal as an alternative feedstock without requiring significant plant modifications or replacing existing biomass feedstock resources. The Company is also focused on production and commercialization of CoalSwitch and the development of CoalSwitch fuel blends that utilize low value wood waste and residual materials. Its subsidiaries include Advanced Biomass Solutions Limited, Lumberton Energy Holdings LLC, CSW2Maine LLC and others.
