I'm looking for correlation between asset classes, so keeping a mix of currency, commodity and equities. Generally bearish on the dollar, expecting inflation to rear it's head. On equities, I'm looking at a variety of sectors, with understandable balance sheets and names that have been oversold. Overall view is about risk reduction but I think in times like this what is traditionally seen as low risk, eg holding USD, is not. Keeping away from UK plc as I think it's in a lot of trouble. Don't like these oil exploration companies - too many operational risks plus possiblity that governments will raise taxes to fund other things.
