Hi Guys,

I film 'Stocks to Watch' and other videos on my YouTube channel applying the Wyckoff methodology. It's a combination of technical analysis, structural analysis, and analysing market behaviour through non-linear fractal price structures. If you'd like me to cover a stock your interested in, comment below and I'll include it in a video. In additional, I'll also look at the fundamentals using Stockopedia. Any feedback on how to improve the format of the videos and new ideas are greatly received.

Hi Peter

You are 100% correct. All methodologies are conceptual/abstracted models of a phenomenon. But I cannot necessarily agree that 'He who lives by the Wyckoff method will eat shattered glass.' As you posit.

I have found that Wyckoff's articulation of price cycles, composite operators, key data points within price structures, volume versus price associations and general share price analyses disciples to be rather useful.

One significant strength being that testing buying opportunities against the model(s) has kept me from buying positions, which in the past I, certainly would have taken a trade in, but almost certainly have lost out.

In my view, you might disagree, all methodologies are simply guides and require intelligent interpretation within real-world contexts.

For me, Wyckoff has provided a useful encapsulation of many aspects of investing which I find useful. Clearly it does not cover all aspects as no methodology ever can. They are all sub-sets of any given phenomenon and can always, always, be improved upon and/or augmented.

I certainly do not live by Wyckoff, but I know I have been saved money by his method, and have made a little bit too. And as Buffet points out, Rule #1 do not lose money. Rule #2, see Rule #1.

So, for what its worth, Wyckoff and all Jack's education about it, get a strong endorsement from me.

The tape (charts) reflects the market participant behaviour. It is down to you and your ability to interpret and take advantage of such behaviour. You can go a step further by understanding the rate of change (RoC) of growth and profits plus central bank policy too, this improves the understanding of where you are in the business cycle. For example, when growth and profits are peaking on a RoC basis plus you're at the top of a Wyckoff trend channel a market reaction is highly probable, therefore, decrease your gross long exposure and be in harmony with the market trend.

I've been saying for many, many months, this was a huge distribution structure forming in the major indexes - it wasn't luck.

Why don't fight the Fed is a nonsense statement. When they get to the 4th and the 5th rate cut it doesn't end well... Monthly candlestick bars on graph showing rate cuts and Fed Funds Rate prior to cutting cycle.

Point being, this was VERY late in the business cycle and it didn't take a genius to identify the extreme overbought condition in the S&P 500 Wyckoff trend channel and the distributional characteristics in the previous declines within the channel. Even I managed it!
