Thank you Paul for posting this interview with Lawrence Hulse - a very interesting set of companies.

I always learn from these interviews - and found that Lawrence's approach has a lot in common with mine - we're both looking for change - in just about anything but something that will cause a big change in the business - change for the better that is. My process is probably more akin to Phil Fisher's 15 point list than Lawrence and my circle of competence (hard learned) is a lot narrower.

A lot of the stocks discussed have been in my sights - though only one in common Vianet (LON:VNET) which really doesn't pop up often having been largely overlooked in recent years.

Thank you Paul for an excellent interview.

Laurence Hulse seems to be remarkably well informed on a vast array of subjects including Data, Fishing, AI and Housebuilding, so it is no surprise to me that his investment trust is up 20% YTD. I suspect he also had a bad case of hay fever during the interview and did very well in the circumstance.

Several of the firms mentioned both sparked my interest and were within my circle of competence and so I will investigate them further.

I noticed Dowgate took a reasonable 5% TR1 position in smallcap Northcoders, which provide coding (re)training bootcamps, earlier this month.Perhaps that's one of their nursery positions?Daily trading volume there used to be virtually 0.
Now at least there are a few daily trades!

Agreed Anthony. It was fascinating to hear Laurie's views on Angling Direct (LON:ANG) . If management follows his suggestions, then I suspect the shares have a lot of potential upside.
