Stockopedia continues to provide the service I require for U.K. stocks but not US stocks. Significant investment opportunities exist the other side of the pond and those opportunities are likely to prevail.
I wanted to canvas opinions on the best educational and analytical tools available.
I have used The Motley Fool and Zaks in the past but which paid subscription service currently offers the best coverage of today’s market leaders and under the radar growth opportunities?

SC120. Quite a coincidence as I was in the process of asking the very same question and also making the point re the US market . I have used WallstreetZen and Zacks before with mixed results

Caper4. Zacks is my preferred option at the moment but I don’t have enough experience of alternatives. The level of outflows out of UK equities is alarming and I am struggling to see how the money attracted to cash generative AI and tech stocks in the US are going to flow across to the likes of Shoe Zone, Revolution Bars etc.

The lack of response so far, suggests that very few on here actually invest in the US market or, if they do, they don’t use a subscription service other than Stockopedia which presently gives very limited info .

I use Tipranks free service, surprising hiw much you get free, most of it is not available on Stockopedia. They have a subscription level, which is about $30pm. SeekingAlpha, is another service, worth considering.

It is the generation of ideas and discussions that are lacking on Stockopedia. This is especially important now given the consistent underperformance of U.K. markets. I have and would use the stock screens to qualify my US equities.

I'm struggling to find anything to buy in the US markets, everything decent looks overpriced or fully valued. Even the analysts, don't see much headroom for price rises.

Not sure about Stockopedia picks. I did a US Naps, that was a disaster. On screens, tend to select so many different shares, compared to the UK.

Thanks Rusty2. My UK stocks move 1 step forward and 3 back but as you say the US is looking over priced. Having said that the likes of Nvidia march on.

I know what you mean in the UK, it has been a difficult 2 years.

NVIDIA (NSQ:NVDA) good time to buy was mid October 2022. Stockrank was 12, share price was $112. This has been the case for many of the larger US stocks, buy them when they are down. Stockranks will be down also.

Despite Stockopedia VR of 1, on NVIDIA (NSQ:NVDA), the f PE is only 0.8 I still holding,, waiting for $1,000.

So is my son. He bought quite a lot at about 300 !! Refuses to sell any even though my advice was to at least take some profits !!

It is very difficult to know when to sell. I sold out of Super Micro Computer (NSQ:SMCI) far too early. They over 10 bagged in a year.

It's is the US where the millionaires are made not the UK's pocket change. I've now quit the UK markets, especially small caps which is a mugs game.

Yahoo finance is brilliant and free. The screening tool does a fine job of finding good US stocks.

I agree Rusty. Also easy to look back on once in a decade risers like NVIDIA (NSQ:NVDA) and Super Micro Computer (NSQ:SMCI) and use them as evidence for investing in the US. But it's too late and too risky to be throwing money at AI now, it's all so highly valued considering the uncertainty around exactly how it will impact life generally. Maybe I'm just bitter as I sold NVIDIA (NSQ:NVDA) for what I thought was a decent gain at $160.

There are always new leaders in the US. They have a thriving stock market and economy.

I tried marketwatch but didn't find it provided anything that could not be found for free elsewhere, unlike here.I read that US smallcaps,which tend to be larger market cap than UK's, are places to find under analysed gems.Ofcourse the MAG 7 have outperformed of lately, but who knows what the next few years will bring.For example, i wouldn't bet against Apple (NSQ:AAPL) but i wouldn't also be surprised to see a good few years of sideways trading.

Tesla (NSQ:TSLA) has halved from its peak again recently and Apple (NSQ:AAPL) hasnot participated in the recent bull rally really.I like the Mag 7 but Nvidia won't double its market cap every year from now on, however many call options are bought and hedged by marketmakers.And it could even halve in the next year or 2.Could be a buying the dip opportunity in the future...

But outsized opportunity still tend to exist in out of favor sectors on both sides of the ponds more often than not and companies that are too small currently to pay many analysts to follow.The competition is too high with megacaps for retail to find alpha through self research and analysis as you are competing against billions invested by high frequency trading algorithms and mass analyst coverage.That's why i value the SCVR here.I do look like undervalued US small caps by just googling around and looking on here too.I still like to remain passively invested in the biggest listed companies within secular trends such as cybersecurity and AI though.
