Stockopedia and the team have allowed the usual suspects to destroy this.….. the same people that recommend reading posts aligned to the Iran regime!
The sad thing is that I have the knowledge and insight on almost all the US stocks that goes back over 30 years and everyone would have benefited from it.
They really really don’t get it Alphaflight I am constantly amazed at how easily some people are upset just by pointing out facts and if they actually believe that politics doesn’t matter to an economy they only have to look at Venezuela Zimbabwe etc etc
But you’re not pointing out facts. Quite the opposite. That’s the problem, along with its total irrelevance to investing in individual stocks which is what this website is about. If you can’t see that, and I assume you are reasonably intelligent. it means you choose simply to be wantonly disruptive. If I was Stockopedia, I’d return your remaining subscription and tell you to p*** off.
If the US changes its capital gains policies then you will likely see a lot of these high PE stocks sell off. For example, I would at the very least expect to see a flood of "bed and breakfast" deals going through if Harris wins. This would adversely impact equity prices in the US.
That's a big IF and at this point is merely speculation based on the wittering of a politician in the run up to an election. If you believe anything a politician says in the run up to an election then I'm sorry, you have to be very wet behind the ears. It is not stock specific and so has no relevance to what was a useful thread until ruined by one poster with their irrelevant, highly speculative political diatribe. Politics should have no place on this site. There are many other, (and better) forums to have such debates where you will find a more willing audience.

I disagree. I'm a professional investor and I have a different take on things.
We'll have to agree to disagree then. If we took a straw poll I'd suggest the vast majority of subscribers that use the discussion forum have very little interest in such discussions and that is not why they come here. And as we have witnessed, just one or two people shouting from their soap boxes is enough to ruin it for the vast majority who just want to discuss individual stocks (in this case US stocks). That should not be allowed and I would kindly ask that you and anyone else that wishes to discuss politics do so on your own threads. That way, you'll soon find out whether such discussions are of interest to the wider community. I suspect not.
It's about respect at the end of the day. If you don't respect the wishes of the wider community and are not enlightened enough to know when you're being wilfully disruptive, then you should be banished IMO.
What you're forgetting is that this isn't a democracy - it is a private company's website and they can do whatever they want. You should respect that they provide you with a means to communicate and can take that away because they have the authority to do so.
And I have shown you respect. I don't know what your problem is, but hope you are able to overcome it. I don't know why you use the site as I don't recall ever seeing you take part in an investment discussion or propose any ideas. What's your largest holding currently and why?
Bullhead reminds me of a former friend, who was so insistent of telling the truth, as he saw it, to everyone he met, that people started avoiding him on the street, he was warned by the police that he should stop approaching random strangers as he was distressing them and I had to stop inviting him to social events as he upset people.
What was particularly sad about this was that he was a genuine, kind and very intelligent individual, who meant well, but could not see that people just did not want hear his opinions, and it was not appropriate for him to force his opinions on them.
Discussing politics with him became pointless as he just used as use it as a chance to restate his viewpoint and never looked at any countervailing information.
This is just the internet based equivalent.

It may have relevance to you but most subscribers are not interested with relation to the primary reason for their using this website. Is that too difficult to understand?
I have invested very successfully for 25 years by totally ignoring politics and all the associated noise and speculation that goes with it. This has been through I don't know how many different UK governments and hundreds of taxation and economic policy changes. I suspect not much will be different in future. It is just noise in the grand scheme of things and my investing improved no end once I concentrated on things I could control rather than the second or third order effects of political decisions I could not.
Anyway, I can see I am wasting my breath and so will sign out now.

Much appreciated. The community has lost a genuine insight on US stocks that will have benefited its subscribers. The results are already there for all to see-Oscar Health (NYQ:OSCR) and Rocket Lab USA (NAQ:RKLB) are up about 30% from my original posts! The good thing also is that they are so liquid that 30% means actual 30% gain as the spread is non existent-not the usual UK small cap spread!
This is the last post from me on this thread and I will advise everyone not to get engaged and comment again and just leave alone the 2 or probably 3 that post irrelevant idiotic and disruptive comments to continue post nonsense that no one will read at the end and the thread will disappear on its own.
As your email to Ed Croft, I will encourage you to have a look at the latest financial statements of Stockopedia LTD from the government’s website to have a clearer picture and understand why these trolls continue to exist and spread rumours and information against democracy without being banned. After all they are just harassing subscribers. Stockopedia cannot afford to ban them! (Personal opinion and I will be more than happy to be proven wrong).
I have reported this pro Russian-pro Iranian-pro BRICS behaviour to the relevant authorities and I am sure someone is looking into it.
You have to read their views on the politics thread to understand in detail what I mean; a thread that wrongly was set up by one of Stockopedia ‘s employees. I have reported this to Stockopedia as well but the response I had from Megan was indeed very disappointing and I do not think she has made the effort to read in detail their comments.

Let the thread disappear by not commenting again-the trolls will vanish as well-they always do. They are just losers that have no money to invest and no interest in the stock market.
