Would it not be possible to provide transcripts of podcasts as they are so much more time efficient and so easy and cheap to produce with voice recognition software. On many occasions you have to listen to quite a bit of a podcast before concluding that it is not for you, whereas with a transcript you can skim through it and pick out relevant bits. I really don’t know who has time to listen to all of these podcasts given that there are so many. With most, I can usually learn more from a transcript in about 10 - 20 % of the time it takes to listen to a podcast, often less.
I agree - I would far rather read a transcipt than listen to the original podcast, because I can read much faster than a typical person speaks.
