Any recommendation for a REAL TIME trading simulator which has live market data.
I'm looking to test some different day trading strategies and also backtest my rules to see if I can identify an edge, any guidance would be greatly appreciated

Discretionary trading with me pushing the buttons. Basically I'm looking for a simulator with real live data so I can place a trade but using pretend money instead of real money and see what the outcome would be.
You could do all that on Sharepad with unlimited virtual (or real) portfolios. For the small monthly fee, the education would be priceless. Don't scrimp on the cost while you're learning!!
Not sure which markets/instruments youre interested in but IG have most asset classes to trade with live data for demo spread bets and CFD accounts.
Trading View lets you set a time frame e.g. 5m for day trading and use replay bars for months worth of historic data in your chosen symbol.
I no longer day trade but I did trade using IG for several years. They have a product called ProRealTime that I used to use (many more features than the default interface), to use it live without charge there are certain criteria in terms of monthly trades that have to be met. However you can open a demo ProRealTime account and use that for free which allows you to access all the features (placing simulated trades in real time, stop losses, back testing etc.) .
IBKR has this exact feature. See link below. I used this in the past to learn how to use the IBKR TWS platform, it is very useful and identical to a real account. If you are buying/selling options then I would definitely recommend practicing with the paper account before hand!
Note that various big hedge funds and so on use IBKR, it is a professional trading/investing platform and not really aimed at retail.
you can back test a chart on Tradingview.com, free sign up and the free option is good enough.
