Ed’s screen for the perfect stock just thrown up a share today Pan African Resources (LON:PAF) for those that are interested. I know their management are looked upon favourably amongst the eclectic smaller gold minters so if that sector floats your boat worth investigating. [I bought today]

why do you need a dividend over 2.5%? The best performing stocks in the US don't pay that.
It’s all based on retrospective statistics of uk stocks as I remember. For those stocks that have risen rapidly, look back at their financial status prior to their rise. The above stats were the common denominators.
You would have missed some of the top multi baggers, l can think of 2 off the top of my head Burford Capital (LON:BUR) and Ashtead (LON:AHT).
Ed's article is against trying to find the perfect stock but rather build a portfolio of the top stocks.
Most gold stocks have gone up recently due to the gold price. Metals Exploration (LON:MTL) and Serabi Gold (LON:SRB) probably done better.
Dont disagree….however a stock that fits this criteria is likely to be a well run, progressive company which statistically gives you a better chance of picking a multi bagger. Obviously not to be picked in isolation and also subject to macro influences like all stocks.
Not sure about that. Judges Scientific (LON:JDG) another 10 bagger if you bought in October, 2014. Is that not 3 out of the top 10? Yu (LON:YU.) also a 10 bagger, over a much shorter time. Cerillion (LON:CER) another 10 bagger with low dividends.
It’s a screen. Is it definitive, no..does it shift probability in your favour, I would think very much so. I liked PAF anyway so it was another positive.
Not if nothing is on it. That is the whole point of the topic. There are loads of screens, some may help you selects stocks.
Pan African Resources (LON:PAF) does look quite good, l agree. I don't hold.
JD Sports Fashion (LON:JD.) is another 10 bagger with a low dividend. I really think that the dividend rule, means you are missing out, on some big winners.
Ashtead (LON:AHT) is another, only about 8 bagger.
Future (LON:FUTR) is another multi-bagger.
