One of the principal screens I run is a very basic screen that looks at 'deep value' stocks. These are stocks where the company's balance sheet holds a significant amount of assets which are below that of the market cap of the company, which can be anything from highly liquid assets such as cash or short-term receivables to non-current assets such as property, planet and equipment and the such. My deep value investments have returned 65% over the last two years, with investments such as Xaar (LON:XAR) , Brand Architekts (LON:BAR) and Parkmead (LON:PMG) . I see these holdings as short-to-medium term holdings where the market has mispriced the companies, rather than long term plays. Xaar (LON:XAR) was a great example where following the selloff in March 2020 the company's market cap was below its cash balance, let alone other non-current assets and the potential for another party to purchase its minority interest in its 3D printing business. One of the principal screens I run is a very basic screen that looks at 'deep value' stocks.
