Inditherm Plc, the supplier of heating products using its proprietary carbon polymer technology, reported on the recommendations made by NICE (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence). In The NICE Medical Technology Guidance 7 support is given for the use of Inditherm’s patient warming mattresses by the NHS.
The recommendations conclude that the Inditherm mattress is a practical, economic and effective patient warming device which can help prevent certain patient complications (namely increased blood loss, increased heart problems, increased risk of wound infection, longer recovery times and longer hospital stay) and reduce hospital costs.
