Vietnam Enterprise Investments (LON:VEIL) has underperformed and trades on a 22% discount. I have bought a few, partly because " The Company will put before the AGM in 2025 a special resolution to wind up the Company effective on 31 December 2027."

VinaCapital Vietnam Opportunity Fund (LON:VOF) has also under performed and is still trading at a sizable discount, another option for those looking at Vietnam.

Hold VOF already.

Talking to my son-in-law about buying VinaCapital Vietnam Opportunity Fund (LON:VOF) . This rather put him off. Not quite sure where AJ Bell got the Fund charges from, on the AIC it is 1.6%. Based on £10K

I tend not to follow Tipsters- but the Times has tipped Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust (LON:SMT) and Pershing Square Holdings (LON:PSH) . I hold PSH and have bought and sold SMT. Currently do not hold, but on my watch list- as always. It I am sure will perform again, just when ?

Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust (LON:SMT) was around £6.20 in October 2023, it is now £9.45, so not a bad return if you bought at the lows. However, it is a long way from the highs, so i'd say it has bottomed and is performing

The activists certainly helped to narrow the discount and it does look like the PE holdings may have stabilised.

Digital 9 Infrastructure (LON:DGI9) Another Asset value the board approved June 30th which was not actually the asset value !

The $42m consideration, which is net of $2.6m of transaction costs, represents a 15% discount (approximately 0.7p per share) to the latest valuation of $49.6m as at 30 June 2024. The Project continues to be impacted by ongoing conflicts in the Red Sea area, which have led to an indefinite delay to its final construction completion. The transaction also releases the Group from $10m of additional construction commitments.

Transaction costs are predominantly an allocation of substantial fees payable on the completion of the divestment of the Company's Subsea cable assets, which were committed to at the commencement of the sales process in early 2024. These fees will become payable following the completion of a sale of AquaComms.

Thanks Charles I was looking for a China trust to buy for diversification purposes I was thinking of Fidelity China Special Situations (LON:FCSS) but your flag on the gearing has put me off , hat tip for the steer.

Out of interest Charles do you prefer China for 2025 over Vietnam for Asia exposure ?

Yes, and it gives some exposure to China as a nice tech diversification. This aspect might be appreciated a bit more since last weekend.

Their annual investor seminar is coming up soon in Feb. Might be worth obtaining a link to view. Recent SP performance has been encouraging.

I hold Golden Ocean (NSQ:GOGL) and BW LPG (NYQ:BWLP) for both income and capital gains. Very volatile but super cheap to PE and consistent payers.....until they don't. Have had BWLP on and off for 4 years. Great stock and much easier to access now it is listed in the US rather than just in Oslo. Worth looking at.
