Quite often I want to see peoples' latest thoughts on a particular share but it can be quite hard to find information without trawling through the SCVR and seeing if you get lucky.
Would there be any appetite for individual share blog-threads? Or is this just replication of bulletin boards elsewhere?

If you enter the ticker of the share your interested into the search bar then hit the discuss tab will normally bring up lots of past discussion info on said share.
Thanks Phoenix - that's true but the information therein is usually mixed in with lots of other unrelated stuff. Would it be useful to have individual share blogs?
Only if they get tagged in the main report or article not in the discussions. Even then there has been a lot of missing tags or tagged when just mentioned. Search on Stocko could be much improved. Google maybe a better place to search.
Poor tagging is an issue but another part of the problem is that you have to actively search for posts which is time consuming and increases the risk of missing an important update, especially if you have lots of shares. A better approach would be an alert when there's a post. As some posts like the SCVP (or just one with many replies) are more valuable then ideally that should also be communicated in the alert somehow.
There's already a basic news alert notification system in Stockopedia which could be extended to posts. I found it's not useful by itself as I was getting way too many notifications. My solution to that was to use the alerts email feature and set up a lot of rules in gmail to discard the junk (NAV updates, transactions in own shares, filing notices etc etc) leaving the good stuff like trading updates. Only about 10% of the alerts were really interesting if you're busy like me.
I did raise a feature request recently with the helpdesk and they were quite receptive to improvements in this area, so hopefully we'll see something in the next year. Meanwhile thumbs up to this post helps communicate there's interest in the community.
I agree about too many notifications, I was getting well over a 100 a day. There should be a facility to turn some off, I have Barclays (LON:BARC) in one folio, get loads of notifications everyday. Also shares I no longer hold, ie sold but are still in the folio, still get notifications on. I have spoken to Stockopedia some time ago about it but nothing has changed.
But would rather have more folios, which has been promised for years.
I personnally think individual share boards would be very useful. With the current format, useful and informative posts within a thread get lost. Its worked on other boards so it could work here if there was some will to do so.
Stockopedia started with the idea of Stockranks and then gradually morphed into a mono thread where everything is discussed. I would guess that Stockopedia is a fairly small company and is wondering what to do. I doubt that in the current climate it wants to cannibalise it's only recurring thread or alienate its users who might cancel subscriptions.
