are FTSE prices live on stockopedia, or delayed .....if delayed by how long?
assuming delayed, anyone any tips on where to get free live prices, esp daily movers?
if not free, than at a low subscription price!
thanks

Stressor,
Generally, prices are delayed 15 minutes, I assume stockopedia is the same. I use HL.CO.UK to trade and to get live prices. I think you can sign up for free.
We are considering adding real time data in future - there is of course a significant data cost - so it would be an add-on.
investing.com is I thought real time for most developed markets. Free version carries a few ads, not obtrusive. Be aware that their symbols aren't always identical to conventional UK tickrs.
Hi Ed, one thing that I would absolutely love and would make you stand out from the competition in a big way... I'm keen on being able to download data from the software/sites I use. Stockopedia for lots of useful stuff and end of day prices from another software provider. I also get Level 2 real time prices from my other provider. What they can't currently provide (and I can't find elsewhere) is the ability to get intraday prices in a stream/delayed/end of day download. The lack of this may be down to contract terms/costs - but any sort of access to intraday prices (in a raw data form) would make your service at least 10 times better than the competition - always good to aim at 10 times better :)
Until Google Finance imploded, they not only provided real-time prices for LON and many other exchanges, but also an API to download intraday prices - not every trade but the price at one minute intervals.
They also had one of the best charting features and portfolios which handled dividends and splits.
And then quite suddenly it all stopped. Not just the real-time prices (which maybe breached some data provider rules) but the portfolios and the charts - to be replaced by a sort of noddy chart and a handful of badly lined up data.
One of the mysteries of the universe and a reminder that all Google's offerings are free and come with absolutely no guarantees that they will be there tomorrow.
ADVFN's free service is pretty good for live prices, except that it keeps forcing you to reload, especially in busy times, in the hope you'll buy the upgrade.
You can input a whole portfolio and see the live prices. I like their charts of price movement in the current day, on the individual share "quote" page, especially to see market sentiment after a profit warning. I like the RNS flag too, as this draws attention to portfolio news that comes out later in the day.
I haven't persuaded myself to buy Level 2 prices. Who has the lowest charge for this at present?
If you download the ADVFN app to either iPhone or Android, you can get the live price without the automatic reload.
