Does anyone know if there's a way of creating a list that filters out stocks that have only a safe bankruptcy risk rather than a cautious or distress one? Having made a few bad investments I want to avoid losing any more money! Also, the Stockopedia app seems to disappeared. Will it be returning?
I'm an amateur investor who has made plenty of mistakes so far but I'm on a steep learning curve!

Hi Charlotte. You could build a screen with a requirement for Altman Z score above 2.8. If you don't want to make a screen, then the score appears on the stockreport for each company on the right about a third of the way down as "Bankruptcy Risk". You could vary the number that you are willing to accept. eg 2.6 would be a bit more risky, or 3.0 would be a bit safer. This is not infallible but would help you to select companies that are less likely to suffer that sad fate.

You can copy it and add your own rules to it, if you wish. I would avoid stocks with high debt also.
You can also add a column to your folios with the Altmann score for each stock.
